Understanding and Setting Up Performance Review Cycles
Understanding Performance Cycles in ClayHR
In ClayHR, you can organize individual performance reviews into Performance Cycles—making it easier to manage and track reviews across your organization.
What Are Performance Cycles?
Performance Cycles are groups of performance reviews that share a common theme or criteria. They give structure to your review process, so you can view and manage related reviews together.
How You Can Group Reviews
You can define cycles using any criteria that works for your process, such as:
- Review period (e.g., Mid-Year 2025)
- Department (e.g., Sales, Engineering)
- Location
- Job profile
- Any other criteria that makes sense for your team
You can also combine multiple criteria for more specific cycles, such as:
2025 | Mid-Year Review | Sales Dept.
25Q1 - All Departments
25S2 | Senior Project Managers in Engineering
How to Access Performance Review Templates
To create or manage performance review templates:
- Go to Performance from either the Left Menu or Top Menu.
- Select Performance Reviews from the submenu.
- Click on Templates.
Flexible Setup
You don’t need to create Performance Cycles in advance. You can start with individual reviews and group them into cycles later—whenever it’s most convenient for you.
